“growth fell” = is still growth though

algorithms and data structures are overrated IMO. No average programmer is manually writing sorting algorithms or reversing linked lists. And if you do need something like that, you can just google it
edit: People have raised some VERY good points about why DSA is actually really helpful, and I guess I have to agree. I think this comes from my disappointment upon entering the professional programming scene and realizing that readability, maintainability, organization and structure are 10x more important when it comes to collaborating with others on production-grade codebases.

ONE OF the largest? I don’t think the technological infrastructure for a larger one has existed before.

With all the myriad problems I’ve had with linux, audio was never one of them. Hell, my android is worse with audio. Looking at this thread, I’m apparently very lucky

It already is FOSS

As somebody who is quite critical of AI, I will say, it is a fantastic tool for finding bugs early. I advise getting all your changes reviewed by a decent LLM before you push them. It often finds edge cases I forgot in my testing

I felt a lot like that too. I still do, but this helped me a lot:

they also grow more calories per area than most foods, so less land usage!

web devs vs just using a compiled language plus vanilla JS

few times, but it luckily never broke the devices it happened it

I’m confused, doesn’t a VPN help protect against mitm in public networks? Are you saying that governments might use this at VPN exit nodes? That actually makes sense

The implication is not that the German is far-right, but the “who cares how it’s coded” guy

under aesthetics 💅

This expresses quite well how loneliness manifests in modern capitalism. Ecah individual depends more on the society around them than ever before, specialization is at an all-time high, but we don’t actually have relationships with people where we depend on each other. Humans have a desire to be part of a group, and being needed, but we are alienated from the material relationships we have with others that it feels like we aren’t actually part of any REAL social network. Relationships aren’t built on helping each other when in need, but on socializing and having fun. Which means people who aren’t great at that can feel left behind
I agree, but the question is, how to use responsibly. I like to use it as an assistant that can look things up. Googling has the tendency to bring up outdated information, a good AI model is able to cross-reference what it finds with documentation and release notes. I never let the AI write anything for me though.
Not sure if I’m supposed to feel bad for the colonizing nation or the people doing the colonizing on their behalf. I’m gonna go with neither

Why would I want a convenient passkey stored securely inside my password manager if I can just, much more conventiently, lock myself out of my account by losing my phone?
Don’t hold it above the flame. Hold it near the embers at the bottom. For some reason this is secret knowledge that nobody knows.
