In Star Trek, stardates don’t follow one universal formula, so it depends on which series your fanfic is based on. For The Original Series, you can choose a four-digit number followed by a decimal and keep it consistent throughout your story. For The Next Generation, stardates generally follow a more structured pattern, with the first two digits indicating the season. The page you found may be useful, but remember that fan-made formulas are only approximations.
