Sony asking customers what they think about owning games while simultaneously destroying their ability to make physical games.
Whelp, I already decided that my PS5 is going to be the last Sony console I have. If you’re going digital only I have zero reasons to not just go all in on Steam. ¯\(ツ)/¯
Was already not happy about their removal of the ability to transfer your saves to a USB stick, forcing their cloud instead. However if it had stayed with that I could have dealt with it, not like I really need backup saves 99.9% of the time. Still, a nail in the coffin is a nail in the coffin.
People should’ve started their boycotts with PS4 and Switch.
Wasn’t there some exposed boot loader keys for the PS5? I’m somewhat hoping to turn my PS into a Linux steam box one day…
Unfortunately I still want to play games on it until then, so I won’t prevent firmware updates, yet.
I’m definitely not in the market for a PS6 (when it will be released) however.

I know about that, unfortunately I’m on the latest system software - I did only recently turn off automated updates.
And IIRC my PS+ subscription (which I still use) will try to force me to update when a new version is out.
So, should I disable PS+ just for the hope the Linux Bootloader will catch up to my system software version? That’s why I hope for an (unpatchable) boot exploit.
I honestly have no clue. I’d use Steam on my PC and just see if I can add my TV as possible output screen. My PC and console are already in the same room anyways.
Booo people want to keep buying games on discs. Stop removing customer choice.
Europeans should not care about Playstation until Sony is forced to go back to PS3 quality service. No more paid multiplayer and brittle controllers.

A company does what it wants for its shareholders, and its customers decide if they’re willing to accept it or not. There’s one company and X million customers. Fight!

I have to admit I quite like Sony earbuds and headphones.
Of course I use them with Gadgetbridge (open source alternative app) and avoid having their cursed app on my phone.
A company that put rootkits in music CDs doesn’t get to run code on my phone.
Anything else they make can stay out of my house, particularly consoles.
