[an orange character is driving a bulldozer, facing a house]
I am going to bulldoze your house
[a yellow character is shocked]
[yellow asks politely, hands clasped]
Could you please not do that?
[orange, pushing the bulldozer’s controls, answers]
NO!
[yellow walks away from their house, looking dismayed]
Well, I guess I tried to do everything I could
Too bad
[orange smiles smugly as they bulldoze yellow’s house]

Could be. It could also be about discourse, some people will condemn any form of protest that actually has impacts, and instead expect people to just do a peaceful protest that somehow uses magic and vibes to change the world
So what IDF is doing is good because it’s effective.
what? The IDF is not protesting, they are the aggressor. I think you misinterpreted my comment?
They obviously weren’t the original aggressor, but reacted to an atrocity (which also was a highly effective act) their enemy did first. So they chose to react not just by protesting, but instead by doing something highly effective. Which is what the comic is suggesting everyone should do.
You might just admit that you think these rules apply to the side you hate and not to the side you like and be done with it. That of course precludes moral high-standing which seems to be the point here.
The atrocity was not at all effective since it didn’t sabotage the Israeli state or the Israeli colonial project, instead it helped it. I don’t think the author of the comic thinks October 7th 2023 was a good idea or a good thing whatsoever. The comic can totally be read as alluding to the Israel-Palestine conflict, but it can’t really be turned around the way you do it. Israel is not just the original aggressor, they also provoked Palestinian aggression that lead to October 7th in the first place. Not to mention the state played a big role in Hamas getting into the position of power it is in today.
Complete strawman. Good things should be done well, while doing evil shit well is—surprise—still evil.
