    FWIW, I travelled through there in 2011 and 2015.

    1 toman is 10 rials. It was 20000 rials to the dollar on the first trip, and 40000 rials to the dollar on the second trip. At that time people were standing on the street trying to exchange for USD and Euros with giant wads of cash. Inside the banks the official exchange rate was 8000 rials to the dollar.
