Many vehicles costing upward of 20k or more, probably averaging out for most makes and models to 30K +, no down payment or trade in, being pushed for a shorter term loan, and easily over 6% loan APR?
Yupā¦car payments get crazy. I put 7K down and had a credit score of 83X back in 2024 when I bought my 2025 Forester at 33K and the best APR I could get was like a 5.7%. My payments are around $520/mo.
Shit is WORSE today with inflation, tariffs, etc.
I just got a $19k car loan for about that APR for 5 years and am only paying ~$350. I actually could have gotten just under 3% if I used my bank, but they were too limiting in where I could buy from. My credit rating is 800+.
I used my bank and they only offered 5.6 or so at the time. Perhaps your got in at a lucky time. Not sure what bank youāre with. Iām, unfortunately, with Bank of America.
