I actually ran into this a couple of days ago. I was talking to a friend about an amendment to ban abortion and it wouldn’t let me swipe or use autocorrect for the word “abortion”. It did just work now so maybe it allows it after using it.
I just tried the “abortion” word with swiping, it will not work. Just goes to show ”Siri” or “Sorry”.
I got adoration even when very carefully swiping which is not even close.
It’s ok though. Pixel is in the way and it’s getting graphine
I don’t seem to have any issues typing out abortion. Even autocorrects to ‘abortions’, as in plural.
You gotta be ducking kidding me.
Open source the keyboard
Obligatory https://keyboard.futo.tech/
In a thread about the Apple keyboard, you sent a link to an Android keyboard!? Was this intended to be helpful?
I didn’t know you couldn’t run FUTO keyboard on iOS. Hopefully that will be implemented soon.
Is Futo fully open source? I kinda assumed it wasn’t.
Edit: huh til https://github.com/futo-org/android-keyboard/releases/tag/0.1.30
No, it’s not. It’s licenced under the “Source First Licence” which prohibits commercial use, violating the four freedoms and the Open Source Definition.
Isn’t that the source code in the link above?
It is! Open Source is about more than the source being viewable, it’s about ensuring the rights of the user to view, use, modify and redistribute software without impediment. Because this licence puts restrictions on redistribution, it’s not an Open Source licence.
Here is the full Open Source Definition.
The four freedoms relate to the heavily overlapping concept of Free Software.
