Dutch chip manufacturing design firm, ASML, has been accused of selling chip fabrication hardware to a Chinese defence firm tied to the ruling party. Although it claims the technology was old, it has raised concerns over its potential use in developing new quantum technologies, particularly with military applications.

The opening sentence: “Dutch company ASML…is under fire for selling hardware to a Chinese defense firm with ties to the ruling party.” After reviewing the article and cited sources my conclusion is : No, they’re not. The news entity ‘Nos’ appears to be the only ones interested in this sale, so that first sentence should be “Dutch Company ASML is under fire from a single Dutch news apparatus called Nos…”

Even the NOS didn’t really spend a lot of attention on it. I only really saw one or two articles on the topic.
That’s nothing compared to, for example, the row with China over Nexperia that has been brewing over the past two months.
