Hi all, Iām relatively new to this whole self-hosting thing and I have been loving it. I have several instances setup on my Debian server except for an audiobooks one. My wife loves audiobooks and asked me a way she can get audiobooks on the fly. I have searched online and found many.
Audiobookshelf is the most recommended one, but I donāt really know much about it beside what I read. Most of it I didnāt understand since Iāve never set up anything like that before. I donāt know the technical details on audiobooks like I do on music for example. So Iām not sure. Audiobookshelf has an app for iOS in test flight but its beta is full. And every client for it has an āin-app purchaseā tag and Iām not sure what they hide behind a paywall. Iāve also read that Navidrome (which I already have set up on the sever) works, too but it needs to be ātaggedā correctly. Iām not sure how to and what to use to tag audiobooks. I use kid3 for music, would it work for books, too?
I donāt want to commit and go through the whole setup then end up hitting roadblocks. So any info would be very much appreciated.
Thank you all.

Haha I get that. I was the same way for a long time but gave them another shot a year or so ago and now Iām hooked. They are so much more convenient than physical books
I know for a fact theyāre better than a physical book, but I just canāt focus and understand them. Itās insane how my brain just blocks them. The other day, I literally even stared at the screen trying to follow the book, a couple of seconds later, I was thinking of something else. š. Gave up. I might need some training or something
Haha do what works for you. I was able to get into them after a long car trip where I forced myself to listen to an audiobook. After finishing it it got easier and easier the more I did it. Now I barely read physical books.
