I tried. I was an activist for years. Donated money. Knocked on doors. But when you’re battling willful ignorance, heartfelt bigotry, and an entrenched oligarchy, and everything only backslides against you… You eventually feel like you want to just live life and escape it.

I tried to make the US better for my kid, but it’s unfixable in my opinion. So we moved to a better place.
