So first off I know pretty much everything is gonna speculative as we donāt actually have the thing and those that do canāt speak on it (tho I doubt that applies to anyone here)
By anyways my biggest concern is connectivity with that dongle, the only USB 3.0 I have on my computer is on the back. I remember reading this thing has poor obstacle penetration but Iām assuming thatās talking about walls and furniture, not a pc, but will that be a problem?
I do have some usb ports on the top, tho the quest link (canāt wait to ditch it) says theyāre not usb 3.0 while the case does say they are (also one doesnāt work so I need to call customer support for that). So if the back usb port causes issue can the frame be used on a usb 2.0?
Now this one Iām already expecting the answer to be āwe donāt really know until itās outā but I have some glasses and was wondering if theyāll fit? They donāt sit super far off my face like Iāve seen some people wear readers but for everyday glasses theyāre not pushed up against my face.
For my quest itās has that default adjustable face thingy (idk what it call it), the thing thatās actually making contact with your face. If 2 is the closest/smallest you can make it and 4 is the roomiest it can be, I prefer it a 3 but is usable at a 2 if that info helps.
In terms of performance for flat screen games (again I know we have no idea for now) howās it compare to the deck? in summer my family does a lot of travel and if the frame has more power than the deck I was thinking about using it together, for example use the deck on the flight or car ride and the frame at familyās or a hotel. This isnāt really a make or break factor for me just curious
Not frame specific but after I place the order (assuming Iām able to get my grubby goblin mitts on one) can I change the shipping address after ordering. My idea here is Iām worried itās gonna be released while Iām on vacation, meaning released when I wonāt be home and canāt take the package. So my idea would be if that happens ship is to order it, then change it to a friends house and they hold on to it until Iām back. Would that work? For both my deck and controller I didnāt need to change the address and I donāt wanna find out the hardway I canāt do that.
A short, like 2 or three foot, USB extension cable might help you out if you do run into USB 3 interference issues.
i didnāt even think of that, but another comment said it shouldnāt be an issue, so im not worried. Even if it does cause problems I can try to use that top port, and worse case scenario i can use an extender
Itās not ājust WiFiā. Itās 6ghz WiFi 7, and the higher the frequency, the lower the range/obstacle penetrationā¦ In general, lower frequencies have longer range but have less capacity. The 5 GHz bands are absorbed to a greater degree by common building materials than the 2.4 GHz bands and usually give a shorter range. How much will that impact things? Donāt know, but honestly I donāt think the placement of the connector on your computer should be a problem :)
Oh thats great then. Yeah I think my grandparents had a 2.4 connection so they can get the signal outdoors to their patio, but a 5 for indoors cus im like 90% sure their walls are made of the signal equivalent of a black hole so that makes sense
I would be surprised if your PC blocks enough signal to warrant getting an extender, but if you do find that you need one, make sure itās at least a true USB 3.0. Plugging a 2.0 extender into your 3.0 port effectively turns it into a 2.0 port.

Almost certainly it canāt. USB 3.0 has about 10x the data transfer speed of 2.0, so if they specify 3.0 it probably needs it.
As other have said the pc in terms of connectivity something like a PC doesnāt count as an obstacle so sounding like I wonāt have issue with the usb 3.0 on the back

Yeah a little desktop extender for the dongle to plug into vertically should work great, I use them for my full body tracking dongles to get them closer to my play space and it made it flawless.
Yeah, I need to use similar for those.
