No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How come Pornstars don't teach Master Classes? So the average joe or joness can improve relationships and get better orgasms. Who would be better than pornstars?English
2·13 天前They have to navigate a lot more typical relationship deal breakers and may be in a better position to advise how to compromise in a relationship.
A lot? Some of them may be more or less famous and therefor a little different when in public, the reputation of the industry is rather bad, the actors and their relatives are subjected to shame, hate or similar. Also most of them have varying sex partners. If we put them on a list of deal breakes these are maybe one of the ones.
On the other hand someone might worry more about other obstacles in a relationship like spend too much/little time together, lack of or bad communication, trust issues, to be an equal part when it comes to care, housework, finance or too much emotional, material dependence. These are way more common I think and if you are able to compromise regarding these “inside” things you have a solid base to handle the “outside” things more easily. The advice of a porn actor is only helpful if all parties agree that all possible conditions inside a relationship could be ranked and are being ranked without contradiction.
I don’t think being a porn actor disqualifies them from giving relationship advice any more than anyone else’s job does.
Neither do I. It feels like you think I value them less as a person than others. I do not. Do we have a misunderstanding here because of my grammar or another barrier related my english skills?
I see. Thanks. To be clear: I do not know it. It was an assumption I made. I tried to indicate that by using the word may. When I post/comment stuff I usually do not use software to assist me phrasing it or to correct my grammar on purpose. I want to interact genuinely. Sometimes I look up single words in the dictionary as english is not my first language. My hope is that most of my contributions are still more or less comprehensible. (And if not, we can talk about misunderstandings just like now.)

5·13 天前They don’t live in a porn vacuum. They absolutely have relationships outside of their job.
Yes, sure. I agree. But I doubt they do have more experience and/or knowledge in this field than the average person. Teachings how a relationship can improve are limited, because its quite unpredictable due to the mix of cultural, individual and social norms.

11·13 天前These people are actors. I doubt they have more knowledge regarding (romantic) relationships. Also their way to orgasms are not necessarily genuine, the producers and performers are using tricks.
How do you see what languages they selected?
So you mean other users or an entire instance? Besides assumptions by looking at posts (and guess/recognize) you can’t see which languages are selected. When you are referring to yourself, well, I guess that depends on your browser and operating system among other things.
Passions are beautiful.
(Am I the only one who wants to know the whole statement?)
Great parenting right there.

A Boring Dystopia@lemmy.world•but seriously this fast food situation is getting out of control [Tommy Siegel]English
1·19 天前First, all those restaurants in the comic offer franchises to entrepreneurs. It is common for most entrepreneurs to go with franchises since they are easier to run
Fair enough. But when I think about entrepeneurship, motivation and health comes/stays with some kind of passion rather than earning money “quick and dirty”.
I like to see it when they bring some passion to the table, by really like to cook, bake and/or host guests that want to have a somehow more or less special moment. A delicious lunch or snack during a break, a date, a birthday party, you name it. While the surrounding is just pleasant for them and their staff.
Second, Toast is becoming big with independent restaurants. So, there is a way for independent restaurants to have loyalty programs and run an app.
I’ve never heard of it. I looked it up. For me its a trap that ultimately result in even more pressure and less focus on the original object(s) of the company. It may support the administrative tasks behind the scenes, granted, but technology which replaces most human interactions and relations will make the restaurant loose its appeal (if it had one in the first place).
If you are a owner with some kind of passion described above I think you gain genuine loyalty in return. You could offer your guest(s) free stuff coming on the house, give a discount and give them a geniune feeling of being welcome and treated with respect. In my opinion thats way more worthy - for all those who are involved.
Don’t forget to greet, when some Bandicoot passes by.

4·20 天前From my POV (which might collide with reality (yes, please unconfuse me)) the density of fast-food chains in the US is pretty high, but I mean, come on, the size of the land you use is not small.
If your body craves for some burger or the like there could be plenty of alternatives, no? What is it that attracts people to these products?
I’ve been told not just a few of you are proud of entrepreneurs within family/friends or being one themselves. At least some of them could be owner-operated restaurants or diners. No one’s forced to buy from the big players.

1·20 天前I am not that much into tech, but that reads like this being more of a gimmick and a niche. It is great to be able to adapt technology to ones need, but this seems to be something that average users do not think of and is far beyond detailed customization.
That said I think getting infantilised by the manufacturer or vendor, however, is annoying. In contrast curiosity and play instinct can be fun. Having fun is possbible even by being sufficient. I watch older television series, play older games, read older books. I have so much to experience without a subscription to streaming service, buying the newest gaming consoles or computing with the newest devices.

2·20 天前I am not entirely sure if we talk about persistent or volatile memory here (english is not my first language, if its persistent the term storage fits better).
What I do not get is why there is a need for more in the first place? What makes waydroid so “hungry”?
I do not pledge for stagnation, but as progress comes with a price, I do see no need to run forward, hustling even. Instead of going slower and catch up with the people who do not even have internet access nowadays, but want it. Or the ones who are using stuff thats too slow or small for others. Lets try to align access and usage of technology worldwide. Everybody deservers progress and the experience of the advantages technology is offering.

2·20 天前i would want them to produce phones with the best hardware possible as fast as possible.
Why? For what? Ongoing tech “improvements” like this are irresponsible nowadays. As of today we aleady accomplished much progress as humans, but the need to pause, rest, recover urgently is constantly challenged.
Let us break the cycle and finally become sufficient. Especially but not exclusively within consumer electronics.
if spare parts are continued to be offered existing owners lose nothing?
We lose finite resources, the ones of the world and our own. Including spare time. We exchange it for a distraction from reality in 8K and labor that just powers the hamster wheels which probably most of the people didnt want to enter.

8·20 天前This triggers me. I mean, it’s a nice proof of concept and a small skit for the rest of the industry by regularly announce and show that it is possible to produce repairable and somehow better smartphones. It’s like selling organic fruit and vegetables on the local farmers market and attract “conscious” folks that are already trying not to buy food from the grocery store.
Do they think their project, their vision and business model will loose the relatively small attention from a broader range of (possible) costumers if they just pause and use more capacities to support the devices already on the market? Do they fear cuts in their supply chain, because its difficult to re-establish it once the people producing for/with them turn away and work for others?
With the right to repair and othe regulations their (former?) unique features will become a obstactle to persist in the market in which others, the mainstream manufacturers, are getting stronger.
I do not need a new smatphone every two years, not even a somehow fair one. Just produce spare parts for all your models and release everything related as open source, making it possible to run even longer with new(est) android versions or just Linux.
