  • Legion is great! Very trippy show, especially fun to watch while under the influence of something.

I remember Devs sorta changing the direction you’d expect the show to go after the first episode. If you like philosophical shows that make you think a bit deeper than your average TV show you might give it an episode or two more before calling it quits. I really enjoyed that show, but I like almost everything Alex Garland creates!

I’m not huge into superhero shows/movies, but Peacemaker is by far my favorite of the genre. It helps to have watched The Suicide Squad first. The one that came out in 2021 directed by James Gunn, not the 2016 flop with Will Smith.

And yes, Fallout is superb! Best video game adaptation to date in my book! Great show even for people who have never played the games.

  • Lot of good shows airing right now.

Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed. Been watching each episode as they’ve been released. Episode 7 was great. It really ratcheted up the tension. I’m really impressed with Tatiana Maslanyall and the supporting cast. They all they play their roles so well.

Sugar season 2 just started. On the surface it’s just a neo-noir detective show with Colin Ferrell, which is right up my ally, but there is a hidden layer to it that really doesn’t get fleshed out until closer to the end of the 1st season. I liked the extra layer a lot, but could understand how some people might not. If you’re thinking of watching I recommend going in blind, but with the caveat that it does take a time investment before you’ll know for certain if this show is for you or not. The first episode of season 2 was a bit slower than the first episode of season 1, but I’m hooked on this show.

The Legend of Vox Machina season 4. I waited till I could binge this show, because while I liked season 1, season 2 & 3 were just so-so imo (too much melodrama in to many episodes for my taste). I was really impressed with season 4 though. The new member to the group was a lot of fun, and much better comedic relief than Scanlan was imo.

Rick and Morty season 9. I know it’s unpopular to admit to liking, or watching this show, ever since a vocal minority of fans ruined the reputation for the rest of the fan base, but whatever. Season 9 started off strong, as the beginning episodes of their seasons usually do. Then tapered off, as the middle episodes of their seasons often do. Still worth the watch because of the gems found each season.

Comments on any of these shows welcome and encouraged.

  • Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed. The latest episode (4) was great! I’m completely sold on watching the rest of this season. Tatiana Maslany and the supporting cast members are all fantastic!

Widow’s Bay. Just discovered this show today and binge watched up to the latest episode (8). It’s billed as a horror/comedy, but it’s mostly just funny. It’s kinda like if a season of American Horror Story had been a comedy. Kate O’Flynn is particularly hilarious in just about every scene she’s in. Highly recommend!

  • One of the things I miss the most about the 1900s is that people didn’t expect you to be reachable 24/7. Even though cellphones had been around since the 80s very few people had one. That meant that most people could only be reached through the family landline. If you didn’t answer people would just assume you were out of the house, thus unreachable. That all started to change in the 2000s when cellphones became common place. Now days I feel like everyone expects me to pick up when they call, and if I don’t they expect a better excuse than “I don’t feel like talking right now.” As a very introverted person who often needs a lot of alone time, it sucks, and sometimes I really wish I could go back to a world without cellphones.

  • On Friday, the president posted an artificial intelligence-generated video from the official White House account featuring Trump grabbing Colbert from his late-show set and throwing him into a large dumpster while dancing to the Village People’s “Y.M.C.A.”

“Colbert is finally finished at CBS. Amazing that he lasted so long! No talent, no ratings, no life. He was like a dead person,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “You could take any person off of the street and they would be better than this total jerk. Thank goodness he’s finally gone!”

I know I should be used to this sort of thing by now, but reality is so weird.
