I’ve been looking at getting a no gui terminal device to use on public transit and such to avoid doom scrolling while still being able to read/write blogs and perhaps to some light programming. This is the first product that seems to be in a good price bracket for what purpose as well.
There are many types of theories, but they rarely are literally “no organized public sector”. Generally you can more think of it as your municipality being more or less completely sovereign and independent.

Laptops for consumers have never been good, the reason thinkpads are reliable are because they are sold to businesses (with extensive service warranties)
I use mine as a low power server. Whenever I feel like tinkering with a website or something, I can just ssh into it without thinking about electricity usage. Jellyfin and such is also a good usecase

I know some clients show that, but the culture here is generally quite against the concept. Tends to lead to people being scared of going against the majority and creates a hive mind mentality to keep karma high.

I’ll try to explain my thought process. Due to modern medicine and other aspects driving down mortality, human evolution isn’t really based on survivability (I assume it’s more based on attractiveness currently?). If we assume that people who have less sensitive eyes would have the same survival rate, would people still evolve to have more sensitive eyes?
