Well it’s just normal for me. The UI should allow fixed orientation for what ever direction you want. The rotation is the problem. Nobody would ever rotate a map like that.

Yeah I thought steganography was hiding messages in images.
Ok I just looked it up, apparently it can be anything. Images, audio, video, or even text.
I remember I had this Perl module once that would convert passwords into a binary string and then convert that string into spaces and tabs. Looked like a blank file. I guess that was technically steganography.

Man I turn that shit off. Makes me dizzy. N is up.

It’s not really. Sell a solar powered hot water heater that just happens to be a small DC in a box to people with stable fiber connections. Make them subsidized and voila … distributed data centers that are cheaper, more efficient, energy reducing, and much less problematic.

Millions of college students silently scream.
I think reagan did the most lasting damage

No but it was definitely implied by the headline. A word prediction machine, no matter how useful, is never going to be an AGI. And don’t get me wrong, I find LLMs very useful for lots of things. But the model they are chasing is never going to be an AGI, no matter how much info you feed it.
I also wouldn’t predict against an LLM helping to create an AGI either. I have this analogy in my head…
I hammer is a useful tool. It can do many things. It can even put a screw into a piece of wood through a very brute force method. This does not make a hammer a screw driver. Could you use a hammer to help in construction of a machine to build a screw driver? Most definitely, likely even required.
Anybody suggesting they have an AGI built from the current process is a tech bro looking for funding.

Repeat after me. LLMs. Are. Not. Intelligent.

Cool. Charge Zuck with Attempted Murder.
I always chuckle thinking about taking a 1TB Micro SD back in time and watching people’s heads explode.
I remember being in college in the very early 90s and a friend got a machine with 2 2gb hard drives and wondering what he was going to do with all that space. Now I have a NAS at home with something like 100TB and it’s almost 75% full.

Yeah exactly.

Digital games are fine as long as I have to ability to trade and sell. That’s the only thing physical media gave me that I cared about.

I love Skyrim. I really do. But my problem with Skyrim is (and I totally realize this is my own doing), is I have purchased it so many many times… Xbox360 (x3)
Xbox One (x2)
Steam (x3)
Switch
PS4 (regular and VR)
PS5 (I think this might have been a special edition)
And I’m not even counting the DLCs
Now these all weren’t just for me or so I could have a copy at my girlfriends house so not sure that would count. But I’d be scared to count how much money I’ve thrown at Todd.

I have tried so hard to like Returnal. But the constant starting completely over EVERY SINGLE FUCKING TIME just gets so old.

Space really isn’t cold. Temperature is a measure of how fast particles (atoms, molecules) are moving.
In a perfect vacuum with no particles at all, you literally couldn’t define a temperature, because there’s nothing around to jiggle

Ummm….

This is just dumb

My main problem with this is I can’t sell or trade a digital game after I’m done with it. This needs to be felt delt with legally.
Most of the people I went to high school with I don’t give two shits about. Maybe 3-4 of them do I care about. I don’t need a reunion for them. Hell like me they wouldn’t go anyway. In my opinion, reunions are either for people who peaked in high school and wanna relive that adoration or want to brag about their life to people who looked down on them in high school. I didn’t peak in high school nor would I want to brag to people I don’t care about their opinions.
I guess you could just want to see how people turned out is another option. Maybe I’d like to verify a few bullies that I’d bet died of alcoholism in their 40s.
But no I wouldn’t, and haven’t, gone.
