Definitely look for that. I had a Rabbit before so the Alltrack was a tempting next step, but was able to get a new 2021 Crosstrek with a manual. It’s somewhere between a lifted hatch and a wagon. Managed to fit some 8ft 2x2s in there so I’d say it’s pretty functional.

So a jacked up truck trying to go 80 behind me is bearing down on me, swearing and flailing their arms around? I have no problems with this in quiet residential streets, but bikes just are not compatible with most North American roads. They’re too slow to play with cars, they’re too fast for sidewalks and pedestrians, and too useful and fun to ignore, so bike lanes are the best answer we have.

Running? Maybe not free, but shoes are a pretty reasonable price for admission. Great way to get out and see more of your city, trails, or even while you’re traveling. Healthy and feel good endorphins are a bonus.

Photography? Yes a proper camera helps, but your phone has one. Third party camera apps can help make it more manual and learn the exposure basics before committing to an actual camera. Used ones can be had pretty cheap if you decide to pursue further. This can be a rabbit hole hobby costing thousands but doesn’t have to be.

Photography word for the out of focus bits. The design of the lens, shape and quantity is aperture blades, maximum aperture size, distance to the subject, all kinds of stuff make the blurry bits different. Phones often try to fake this with a portrait mode setting.

My friends 2016 had what you’re describing but my 2021 Subaru has the turning ones that actually swivel. It does a fun little going cross-eyed dance when you turn it on to make sure it’s working or something.

Recently learning more about Georgia given the current political situation. Beautiful and fascinating place that would be great to visit one day. How are the ski resorts? I’m from BC in Canada and spoiled for choice, but snowboarding in Georgia would be quite the trip!
