I don’t know if they are any better, but I use Tapo/tplink cameras. No subscription required if you use it with an sd card, but they have a subscription plan for cloud storage.

Is solar the right word? I suppose you could be using it outdoors, but isn’t it more likely just using electricity generated from the lights in your house, which are powered by wherever your utility company sources their power? It’s solar with extra steps.
