I’d just like to interject for a moment…

juipeltje@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•Linux Distribution "NixOS" drama: Moderation Team resigns in protest over Interference of Leadership; Elected Leader works for US Military Company, fearing alignment with US fascistic development3·18 hours agoI’ve considered it, but i like nix better than scheme, and i need non-free software and kernel, which is doable with non-guix but much more tedious with third party iso’s. I went back to Void linux but i still use nix + home manager, and the huge repo alone wins out for me.

I prefer editing in the terminal, but when it comes to gui editors i’ve heard a lot of good things about kate and geany.
Dang, i knew this was gonna be problematic, but i thought it might’ve been fixable with an elogind type of approach. I don’t use gnome myself, but it definitely sucks if you’re someone who likes using gnome but doesn’t want to use systemd. I’m a Void user myself, so i’m interested in seeing if the Void team ends up making the same decision as Artix.
juipeltje@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•This is the only Windows thing left on my computer4·11 days agoI recently bought my first mechanical keyboard, after having used my razer for 8 years, and i was looking into different keycaps, but i ended up having a hard time finding a good keycap set that is of good quality, and that i also liked in terms of colors, and has a super key or something like that. The keycaps that i ended up settling on didn’t have a super key, so i just ended up putting the windows menu key on the super key, so that it atleast looks a bit more generic than the actual windows key. It’s too bad they’re hard to find, but i guess it makes sense since there is probably very little demand for it. Another idea is to maybe put a sticker on it or something.
XLibre claiming to be apolitical is hilarious when their readme sounds like it’s written by a MAGAt. Never touching that project that’s for sure.
Also pretty sure that stuff about the founder is bs, unless you can back that up with a source. From my understanding he ended up stepping down because he was already putting more attention into determinate nix, which was causing friction.
