Oh god I just looked into Typst again and it does look really nice. I really ought to look into it whenever I have time in like 3 years.

I wouldn’t be surprised if quite a few academics in fields where TeX is the default (like mathematics and physics) will be reluctant to adopt Typst just because of this.

I’m not even an academic but this is exactly why I didn’t switch to Typst. I’m trying to get shit done, I don’t want to learn a new math typesetting system. I probably would do it if I was a student but I have a full-time job, two kids, a girlfriend and a dog and zero spare time and energy to spend on this.
