You are absolutely right that Frontex is miles away from becoming ICE. There are illegal pushbacks nonetheless and we need some more oversight from external sources. Frontex has grown in recent years — it should not get out of control.

Frontex could become basically the same, it needs much more (parliamentary) control.

That’s the case with nearly all major problems we are facing today. Digitisation, automation, over-aging population, climate change — all of them were taught in school 25 years ago.
