I get irrationally angry any time I hear “I’s”. I can tolerate most other grammar issues, but something about that particular butchery of English drives me up the wall.

It’s wire wrapped jewelry, and the detailing technique around the edge of the first pendant is called weaving. The tiger’s eye piece is just wrapped, with no weaving.
These two are from the first level wire wrapping class I took a few months ago. You’ll notice that the frame isn’t as intricate:

I took a wire weaving class yesterday and made this:

I also managed to finish these in time for my mom’s birthday:

My grandmother’s assisted living home covers lunch and dinner, and they also have fruit and other snacks available in the little coffee room throughout the day. They provide laundry service for an extra fee, and I think they’ll also do breakfast for extra.

Yep. Someone stole it from my high school’s science wing storage, gave it to my ex husband for his 18th birthday, and he left it with me “until I find a stable place” after we split up. We’re on good terms and I’ll give it back if he ever asks for it, but we separated more than ten years ago so I think it may just be mine now.
There’s also a little octopus on a jar on the top left, front of the shelf.

Yep!

I’d use half to clear the debt I’ve been clawing my way out of for the last couple of years, and the other half to fix the retaining wall so I can finally build a small backyard studio with loft to use as an office/guest space. Any leftovers would go toward the construction of the studio.

Thanks! My decor style falls solidly under maximalist, so it’s a pretty good representation of the rest of my house.

It’s printed on square glass, actually. I got it from ThinkGeek years ago.

I inherited most of my grandma’s mid-century dining room set, so yes. I keep her china in the bottom, and use the top as a display case and liquor cabinet. She wouldn’t exactly be thrilled with my setup, but she’d be happy the furniture stayed in the family.

I drove up through there yesterday, heading home to Nelson. The Crowsnest is such a fun drive.

After rewatching that one recently, I’d say 12 is too young. 15-16 would be more appropriate. A huge part of the story in the first two seasons is Veronica trying to deal with and investigate her own rape, and the major subplot of the third season involved a serial rapist. It gets very, very heavy and adult at times.
It’s still a great show, but not one for a middle schooler.

I’m glad it’s not just me. XD
The first time I saw them was at a New Year’s Eve show at The Rickshaw in Vancouver. IIRC, they were opening for Ninjaspy, who were friends of mine (could’ve been the other way around, it was almost 20 years ago). The two bands joined forces to lead the crowd in a midnight singalong of Bohemian Rhapsody.
I used to go to The Dreadnoughts’ annual Punkstravaganza mini festival at The Rickshaw every year, but I moved away a few years ago. Now I only brave the winter drive if they release a new album or if I’m really into one of the openers.
They’re one of my 10-year-old stepkid’s favourite bands. I’ve promised to take her to see them if they’re still playing when she turns 19.
