I think so, just a relatively famous copypasta.

I’d just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux
I would like to plug Mailo. Its explicitly privacy focused, has a free tier and even has child inboxes with more restrictions. Its like $75 per year and I have had nothing but great luck with it.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's the hardest addiction you've tried to break or are trying to break?English
3·3 months agoI don’t think they are supposed to taste bad. They are just an alternative to nicotine gum. You can get them at pharmacies. I don’t like the gum because it’s bright yellow and leaves little stains in my teeth so I got the lozenges this time instead.
They do taste absolutely terrible though. And yeah, cigarettes smell awful but for whatever reason, I like the taste of them. I quit those a long time ago specifically for the bad smell though.

8·3 months agoJust quit nicotine again for the 3rd total time. Sucks a lot. And I feel like the nicotine pouches are significantly more addictive than cigarettes or tobacco ever were.
My secret this time was nicotine lozenges. They taste so terrible that it even overcame the positive association I have with nicotine. Good luck out there!

Technology@lemmy.world•Framework supporting far-right racists?English
41·5 months agoI would say most of the customers of Framework are the kinds of people who espouse the kind of antifascist ideology that that guy that started the thread does.
I don’t think that the fascist sympathizer circle and the “willing to pay more money for an ethical laptop that isn’t beholden to a big corporation for repair” circles have much overlap.
This is easy, “Framework doesn’t support fascism or racism in any form. We support open source software and right to repair. Due to concerns with ideology in some of the projects we sponsor we are reviewing the projects we sponsor to make sure that they align with our values as a company.”
The fact that they aren’t willing to say so says plenty.
