They should ask Matt Bevin how things went when he tried to mess with the Kentucky teachers’ unions.

Spoiler: We got Andy Beshear as governor.

(Yes, it’s more nuanced than that. He was screwing with more public servants than just the teachers. But the teachers’ not-legally-a-strike was highly effective, and I personally knew Republican teachers who actively campaigned against Bevin.)

They’ve done the decades of work to turn people against unions, convincing MAGAts that unions are proto-communist organizations that extort unfair wages though dishonest practices while sitting around not working. They have people looking over at them saying “how come you get paid so much?” Instead of “I should get paid that much too.”

People are dumb. Whatcha gonna do.

Why? They were well-read women, aka “woke women” so they “sent a message” (don’t mess with the patriarchy). Also, King James, his Witch General Finders, and the “demonologists” were all men, and they found women an easier target to do bad things too. They argued that “their feminine wiles” misled many men; therefore, they’re in cahoots with the dark side.

Actually, thank you for asking this; with so much insanity coming from this administration I accepted it as real without question. However, after some searching it’s unfortunately a real Facebook post by a real asshole. (hopefully that works, Facebooks interface is such garbage)

      It’s by design.

Once upon a time, the USA had a strong middle class. Billionaires got taxed heavily, and our public schools were the envy of the world. Well funded and produced a lot of great students.

But educated people are difficult to control and even harder to dupe. The GOP realized that if they can gut public education, the masses will become malleable again. Meanwhile, the children of the rich can continue to go to expensive private institutions for their own education. So the rich stay educated, and the poor’s go in the gutter.

Also cutting education now has no effect for about 25 years or so(in their view. Its approximately right but not completely true…) Their short term brainrot is so bad they would abolish education entirely in a heart beat and coast on those miniscule savings for a few decades until the world rips itself apart…

Also, my pet conspiracy is they all know the world is going to devolve into chaos due to global heating and climate destabilization anyways so why should they care about education when its not going to produce anything worthwhile when the chaos hits… from what I’m seeing 2040 is where things get dicey and most things have inflected negative. 2050 is where things break down genuinely. Too many bad things happen at once…

Only problem with that is that a society like that becomes very unsuccessful, lowering the standard of living for everyone, including the rich.

It should also be noted that they must be malleable beneath the threshold of the GOPs competence. So to effectively manipulate, the GOP needs a population more ignorant than the DNC does. The left can afford smarter ppl because the leadership itself is more competent, it ain’t like education isn’t being gutted in blue states as well

Reminder that the Republican party are traitors to the United States of America who work tirelessly to weaken our nation and harm our populace.

And that makes anyone who still supports them traitors too. Ignorance isn’t an excuse.

Smart people don’t vote Republican. That is why they are destroying our educational system.

Conservatives hate teachers because teachers don’t need to work when kids aren’t in school for the summer. That’s the only complaint I’ve ever truly heard from them. Meanwhile, those same teachers are up stupid early, on time every fucking day, dealing with over-filled classes of every type of child, and then doing even more labour in the evenings as they aren’t officially given much of any time to create plans or mark work.

They also do work during the summer, making lesson plans, teaching summer school, working a second job, etc.

But if Republicans made policy decisions based on reality they wouldn’t be Republicans.

They’re not detached from reality; they work on behalf of the Epstein class the most aggressively to keep the working class desperate and divided.

They just don’t care about “reality,” they want to inflict maximum pain.

Their pay is insanely low as well, and they can either not get paid for summer, or take their pay even lower per month to cover summer too

There’s plenty more that they complain about with teachers. They complain that they are ineffective, promote progressive ideals, target their children’s shitty behavior, aren’t held accountable, and the whole “those who can’t do, teach” bullshit.

I used to be a teacher. I’ve seen it all, heard it all.

Since COVID some Conservative people I know have become like those animals that can’t comprehend things that didn’t happen right in front of them.

My kid is a teacher (in Canada so they are paid really well). But its solely on them to develop all the lessons and gather everything needed. They are working to do this after hours and weekends.

In the USA we’re indoctrinated in schools. Faje history and other b.s. Im not maga or republican but I also cant side with more bullshit from schools that dont actually teach. Glad you guys up north get it. Teachers matter even if they are doing the work of multiple people. At least you get paid.
