Imagine an America where gas prices are high and physical shortages are common. That’s the future I’m envisioning. I understand alternatives aren’t present, but people just biking to work is the alternative I’m envisioning.
Which weather? Usually when people say they can’t because of the weather, it’s bullshit. See the classic “people can bike to work in Finland but not Canada” NJB vid.
well, tornado seaon brings weeks of torrential thunderstorms at least twice a year, and winter brings subzero temps for months. add the fact that many people have at least a 30 min commute by car, and missing even one day of work gets you fired, and it becomes an impossble hurdle.
Alternative commutes do not exist in most of USA.
