[an orange character is driving a bulldozer, facing a house]
I am going to bulldoze your house
[a yellow character is shocked]
[yellow asks politely, hands clasped]
Could you please not do that?
[orange, pushing the bulldozer’s controls, answers]
NO!
[yellow walks away from their house, looking dismayed]
Well, I guess I tried to do everything I could
Too bad
[orange smiles smugly as they bulldoze yellow’s house]

Is it a mistake, if you still do it, while knowing it will likely get you killed? And I am not preaching against violent protesting here, just saying that a lot of “non-violence” approaces, still require self-sacrifice. Either you do the violence, or the violence is done to you; both can work or fail in a protesting situation, depending on the situation itself. But for non-violence to be effective at all, means being ready to die, and it seems to me like a lot of people speaking for it, are not.
