When Democratic nominee James Talarico stopped holding campaign events in the Texas Senate race, his Republican opponent Ken Paxton saw an opening to pounce.
āWhere is James Talarico?ā he called out Wednesday during a rally with Donald Trump in San Antonio.
But that night, while flying back to Washington on Air Force One, Trump seemed to inadvertently throw Talarico a lifeline. The president said on social media that Talarico ā who has the flu, according to his campaign ā āshould immediately report to a Debate Stageā to face off with Paxton.
It was exactly what Talarico wanted to hear, since he had long been badgering Paxton for a debate.
Iād love to see Talarico destroy Paxton. Every anti-Talarico ad requires taking the things he said completely out of context.
Every anti-Paxton ad is just facts and statistics about exactly how corrupt he is.
The anti Paxton ads are only limited by runtime. There could be a set of two dozen three hour documentaries on YouTube about all of Paxtonās corruption.

I donāt think thatās true. If Talarico makes the case that Paxton and Trump are the kind of people Jesus would have whipped out of the temple, which is a pretty succinct summary of his whole campaign imo, then there are definitely people in Texas who would care about that. That simple fact is the entire reason Paxton has categorically refused a debate thus far. Itās also the reason Talaricoās interview with Kimmel aired on YouTube instead of NBC (or whatever dumb network Kimmelās show is on).
I got 5 different mailers from Paxton. Every one of them was about trans people. Thatās the best rebuttal he can come up with. Meanwhile he commits crime, bribery, cheats on his wife, owns 15 properties heās using to commit tax fraud, and was impeached by his own party. How is this even a contest?
