Democratic leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives have condemned a raid on Rep. Ilhan Omarās home as ādeeply disturbingā and accused the Trump administration of a ārogue abuse of powerā just weeks ahead of Novemberās midterm elections.
Letās see if they do anything besides strong words and maybe some paddles.
This is a pretty serious escalation. We all knew it was coming, so Iām not going to act surprised. But letās all take a moment just to acknowledge how serious it is that a sitting president just had his DOJ (or DHS, whoever it was) raid the home of a political opponent without probable cause, any evidence or reasonable suspicion of wrongdoing, and presumably no warrant.
Like we knew he was on a hitler kick, but this now so close to the midterms is justā¦ well, very hitler of himā¦
They had a warrant supposedly, so some judge signed off on this too.
Yup, the rot isnāt only at the top. Itās in the system too, and will need to be excised accordingly.
