Anti-LGBTQ+ Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) followed in the presidentās footsteps on Monday when he used an anti-trans slur to describe cisgender Democratic South Carolina Senate candidate Annie Andrews.
Scott said during an appearance on Real Americaās Voice, āAnnie Andrews, as President Donald Trump calls her, tr***y Annie, hereās a person who believes, as a pediatrician, for trans surgery, gender surgery for trans kids. Thatās wrong. Period,ā Scott said.
Go ahead Tim, get it out of your system. All these chucklefucks saying slurs while the bigotry is still acceptable. They want to say the f-slur and the n-word and call people the r-word so bad but they know they canāt.
Letās build a world where itās very clearly NOT ok to keep using this disgusting language.
In their own way they are helping to build that world, by making clear how disgusting they are in their words and behaviors. I canāt wait for investigations, and charges to be brought. Hesgseth could be first, but he sure shouldnāt be the last or only to see significant jail time, and fines that take them from riches to rags.
Vought is relatively quiet and behind the scenes and a lot less performative than that idiot Hegseth, but even more than Hegseth, I want to see that little motherfucker pay.
āWhen they wake up in the morning, we want them to not want to go to work because they are increasingly viewed as the villains,ā he went on. āWe want their funding to be shut down so that the [Environmental Protection Agency] canāt do all of the rules against our energy industry because they have no bandwidth financially to do so.
āWe want to put them in trauma.ā
Keep in mind heās talking about Americans that are civil servants. This angry little shithead who is himself a ābureaucratā set out to explicitly assault 2 million Americans that work for this country.
He needs to pay for that.
Vought should def. experience some of what he has wrought.
100% agreed
One of the biggest lessons from this election is that the trans crap failed, and failed big. Even the bigots canāt ignore that and Iāll bet the 2028 cycle will see many fewer ads about bathrooms and girls sports.
I wouldnāt say that. Many anti trans ballot measures passed in this election, even in more liberal states like Washington
Conservatives⦠performing meaningful introspection⦠and then coming to the correct conclusionā¦
This isnāt politics anymore. Itās hate on a stage.
Meanwhile, South Carolinaās new Democratic Senator one day after the election (arc)
KELLY: I saw Nikki Haley, the Republican former governor of your state. She said last night South Carolina didnāt vote for you. They voted against Trump Republicans. What do you think? Do you think both can be true?
ANDREWS: I think we worked really hard to build a campaign that was for everyone. And we brought together people from across the political spectrum. I was so proud to earn the endorsement of former Republican South Carolina Governor David Beasley, also proud to have the support of Ralph Normanās children, including his son, Warren Norman. And we built a campaign that was really laser-focused on the problems South Carolinians face, regardless of if youāre a Republican, a Democrat or an independent.
And thatās what the story from last night was - that people are tired of the divisiveness. Theyāre more concerned about whatās happening in South Carolina than they are about the party politics in Washington, D.C. And they saw in me someone who will be a fighter for South Carolina, someone whoās serious about solving these problems and, again, willing to work across the aisle. The only two senators Iāve talked to since I won my race last night are Senators Darline Graham and Senator Tim Scott. And Tim Scott and I are planning to get together next week because weāre going to work together to solveā¦
KELLY: Yeah.
[Bolding added]
ANDREWS: Iāll work with anyone whoās willing to solve the problems that weāre facing here. You know, in particular, with Donald Trump, I support the no tax on tips, no tax on Social Security.
Wealthy individuals with larger Social Security incomes should probably pay tax on Social Security.
Wealthy individuals donāt get more Social Security income. They donāt pay Social Security tax on income over the first ~$185,000/yr.
The maximum benefit anyone can receive (in 2026) is ~$5,000/month.
The average monthly benefit for a retired worker in 2027 will be $2,170 (up from $2,071 in 2026). Remember that this is only the average amount you can expect to receive if you make average wages. Some retirees receive more than this, while others receive much less.
The maximum benefit amount that a retiree may receive in 2027 is $5,358 (up from $5,181 in 2026), including delayed retirement credits for waiting past full retirement age to start your benefits.
I said what I said.
Iām cool with no tax on social security if we have a massive wealth tax for billionaires.
1% per year, like they do to our retirement fund fees.
No one time shit. Drain the ultra wealthy forever. Spend it or lose it. The tax should apply to anyoneās assets valued at over 25m and adjusted yearly to the median wage.
Maybe have it be an extra 2% on everything over 100m.
Is that word like the N word, where people who arenāt it canāt use it? After hearing about https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trannyshack I used that word in a conversation and my gay friend got really offended, and I was confused and never figured out why.
Edit: I want to clarify that this is an honest question, Iām not trolling. I just want to know what usage is acceptable and what is not.
I think itās more akin to the f word for gay people. Donāt think itās appropriate to ever use it
It seems like thatās the right way to think about it. But Iām still confused about why there was there a famous trans club with it right in the name.
In January 2015, Trannyshack was renamed āMotherā and started taking place at Oasis, a San Francisco gay club owned by Heklina. The reason for the name change was out of respect for the transgender community, who were critical of the use of the word ātrannyā as being offensive.
I think thereās a generational difference on what words are or are not slurs. Like, at one point I ended up in a conversation with a friendās very chill but 70+ year old parents and they couldnāt believe I used the word āqueerā to describe somebody because that was a slur to them, but they also thought calling that person āfruityā was totally OK, which definitely made me feel uncomfortable.

What else to expect from conservatives?
Theyāve been intentionally calling the DemocratIC Party the āDemocrat Partyā for decade upon decade. Youāll sometimes even hear them ācorrectā themselves on air, in order to stay on-message for being petty little babies that constantly insult Democrats.
They know the correct name for the party, but theyāll back up and make sure they say āDemocrat Partyā. Just like some of the idiots now referring to artificial intelligence/AI as āsuperintelligenceā or āSIā, will do the same thing, especially if donnie is standing next to themā¦

If being an ally gets you called that I would wear it like a badge of honor.
Blasted.
Because respectability politics, language-policing and pearl-clutching are sure winners for Dems.
How is calling out slurs ārespectability politicsā or ālanguage policingā? Are you seriously suggesting that they shouldnāt call attention to bigots and harmful discriminatory language?
Not exactly. I think you can point it out, but, Jesus, please donāt fucking run on it.
I remember Michele Obama being absolutely SHOCKED by Trumpās āgrab them by the pussyā comment. She had never heard such language! It just makes us look like sheltered and oversensitive babies. This is fucking political war, not a kindergarten classroom. Fight over shit that matters, like bathroom bills if transrights is your issue.
Whoās doing that? No one that Iāve seen
That IS shit that matters. If thatās how someone talks about women in private, I donāt want to be in the same room as him, let alone give him more power over women. Along with his ālocker room talkā defense, that was a perfect representation of the misogyny that weāre fighting against. It wasnāt that he used a dirty word, itās that he thinks half the population are objects to be grabbed.
Yeah, and how did it work out? Trump won twice. Just because it offends you personally doesnāt make it a winning political issue.
How men talk and act towards trans women in public is how theyāll think and act towards cis women in private. A quick, succinct rule of thumb to call these fuckers out, and one Iāve yet to see broken. Unfortunately a good portion of cis women are too transphobic to heed this warning.
There are literal years worth of reasons Tim Scott is a shitbag nobody should ever brag about being willing to work with, this was just the most recent example
You do know that itās possible to both call out and condemn a person for their hate speech AND work on legislation, right? Itās not like dem reps are just sitting in their offices all day devoting all their effort to this single issue.
You being so against Dems fighting hate rhetoric really paints a picture of your character.
Sure, thing, buddy. Keep fighting for Political Correctness, Iām sure it will catch on some day.
Dude this is embarrassing behavior for you please stop
Better than just accepting it and actively arguing against fighting it.
Do you see what a wasted effort this is? You want to go into a general election arguing about this shit, good fucking luck. Even Sayed knew not to get into defending Hassan Piker on the campaign trail even though he agreed with Piker 100%.
People fucking hate being told how to talk, and thatās all this is. If you want to fight for trans rights, fight for what trans people are allowed to do (sports, employment, bathrooms, housing) instead of policing speech. And, yes, I know a right to live in spaces where abusive slurs arenāt thrown around is also a trans right, but I think itās counterproductive ground to fight on (outside of workplace harrassment lawsuits, where this is already illegal)āyouāre not going to win anything and youāre only going to build resentment.
Or, you know, keep doing your in-group performativity thing if it makes yāall happy.
I look forward to people with your mindset being left in the dust. This is just another instance of the right to free speech being different from the freedom from consequences. But sure, go ahead, keep defending using slurs (despite the fact that every campaign that ran on slurs and attacks lost). We can work on actual policy that Americans want and also say āyeah, language like that is wrong and weāre gonna move past it.ā Why are you going to bat for bullies?
Yes, saying āthat language is hurtful and not ok and itās time to move past itā is perfectly OK in my book. Guess an argument about how much to learn into it is too nuanced for in-group internet dynamics.
Then to be clear, youāre shadowboxing here. No one in these comments thinks we should be focusing on language policing over any other issues. Everyone here is arguing the same point I am, that condemning fucked up speech and working on policy are not mutually exclusive. Are these people arguing for āPolitical Correctnessā over policy in the room with us right now?
I literally pointed out that itās possible to condemn using slurs while focusing on other issues. When fighting for trans health rights, a person can also call out someone for throwing out slurs as part of their fight. Nobody here is saying that the rhetoric has to be battled specifically and separately. It absolutely should be a part of the overall fight.
People that hate being told that they canāt use slurs can fuck right off. Eventually, those people will be ostracized for being the shit they are. How often do you see politicians dropping n-bombs and of those times, how many of them were just accepted as using acceptable language? That language once upon a time was socially acceptable, but because there was a concerted effort to change that, itās no longer something people get away with without social consequences. Slurs against trans is the next iteration of that.
Itās just wild to me how gung-ho you are about defending the use of slurs and not condemning it.
I never defended it.
You fuckers are truly endless. Fuck off back to the 80s with your tired old shit.
I feel misinterpreted, but you would likely love-hate the I Hate Bill Maher podcast.
the word is tranny? how is that considered anti-trans?
Slurs come about when enough people load up a word with hate to taint it in all contexts. It gains an implication of bigotry
Itās a real time process. Theyāre often āpolitically correctā or preferred terms at first, but over time they are loaded with additional meaning until new preferred terms are chosen and the cycle (usually) repeats
thanks, put like that it makes a lot more sense
took me a while to guess what word is even was!
It wasnāt a slur that long ago.
But itās been turned into it because bigots have zero creativity.
Glad to help!
Itās most often used in a derogatory fashion.
Itās a slur. Tf else do you need?
