The Saudis have remained a major source of financial support for Lucid Motors since it went public, buying up shares and lending billions of dollars as the company has struggled to reach a mass market of EV buyers in the U.S. and abroad.

It’s crazy how the Saudis oscillate between “we want to be green and modern” and “we want to do oppression and atrocities”.

I think there are several factors pushing their thought process: the western colonialism and eastern traditionalism. You can see colonialism via their job force demographics: can confidently say its majority international folks working low to mid wage jobs. Also fact that western nations infringing their business models and all that. While the Eastern tradition thought is in shambles, as a country that could have easily evolved to a better culture, reviving their past traditions. (My point is that anyone and every should be held to better standards to uplift, retain and maintain their culture as a means of self preservation, identity & rather conforming to external influences and norms.)

it’s not an oscillation, they want to be green and modern so they can do oppression and atrocities.

No it’s “we want to continue being rich so we are using all this money we got from oil and investing it just in case oil price crashes.”

Also Lucid prices are stupid low. I know, I invested in them and watched the stock tank 90%.
