What’s the issue? Company pays for development, everyone gets it for free.
It’s an ethos issue, from the greater things in general like changing its relationship with the community to the petty ones like shunning the partner with the most socialist views in the group.
But your question hiddens the more structural problem of what we want for FOSS. Can the company buy anything, even your soul?
Corporate sponsorship in the FOSS community has always existed. It’s how many of your favorite projects have managed to stay alive and thrive, including kernel develop.
Your suspicion and fear is lacking sustenance.
