1·26 days agoMy biggest problem with the current scenario is that we have so much demand for software improvement and new software. Companies just don’t want to invest on it anymore, it is a kind of paralysis where no new great app, no new amazing service is created anymore, competition doesn’t exist and big tech is making whatever they can to protect current profit growth by enshitfication.
If we all agree enshitfication is real, why the incumbents are not losing users and money?

0·26 days agoThe fact that React is the “standard” doesn’t mean it is good. jQuery was the standard and React replaced it. jQuery was great and stopped being great. Same thing happened to React, first with hooks (a terrible abstraction) and later with React Server and nextjs capturing the project.
Yes, React today is bad. Terrible. Coming from someone with 10+ years of React experience and countless paid jobs.

1·1 month agosome projects’ policies state that they would rather not have my patch because I used an LLM in the creation of it.
How much does this bother you? Enough to maintain a fork? It is quite interesting that people complain about this in place of doing what they are allowed to.

1·1 month agoThe second one is true. Properly reviewing and understanding a project takes time, most people pushing quick AI PRs are doing so after the agent decided to use the project and “found a bug”, which might be just a hallucination.

Now I’m having thoughts of it being done by AI to collect funds from anti-AI people (which I kinda include myself).
