Huh, it says that Apple devices were patched on the 19th (yesterday) but my iPhone still fails the tests. My Mac is good though, on both Firefox and Safari. Odd.

I feel like it couldn’t possibly be an intentional thing, but it’s amusing how 100 is a big release.

Although the code is just a few lines long, it is already difficult to think it through in every detail. Are all special cases covered? Could this result in an infinite loop? Could this accidentally access any invalid memory location? Are there other sources of undefined behavior? I can’t be certain by just looking at it. I’d need more time, potentially much more time to really think it through.
This definition of bad code really stuck with me. I wouldn’t have really called that code bad per se, mostly because it looks almost exactly like any imperative palindrome-finding algorithm out there, but this articulates very nicely why it isn’t good.

This is really neat! It feels super elegant. The example with the loop was pure gold, I particularly enjoyed it ;)

I don’t use Go, but it would be so cool to see these things in other languages! I just hope editors (I use Helix) support this once it’s finalized. I wonder how much work it would be to add support.

I really love what KDE has been doing with Plasma. If I ever switch off macOS, I will definitely try it out.
Also…
Spectacle can now optionally include both system audio and microphone input in its screen recordings, making it possible to narrate a recording or accurately record everything that’s going on.
This is a really nice quality of life feature. I can’t even figure out how to get any form of system audio in screen recordings in macOS, let alone both that and microphone audio! (It’s always so annoying.)

Pretty cool that he got the domain before D-Bus even existed! I didn’t expect that.

This is a really nicely written post of one of the things that bothers me. When I was trying to show the grammar mistake to a friend I kept having to refresh the page so that the English would show.

I don’t like it. The javascript is completely unnecessary, and imo just makes the page distracting. example.com used to be a super simple page that I would load to make sure my internet was working, and now it feels much more heavy (even if the JS is small, the animation and language changes bug me).

Ghostty is so impressive to me. Definitely one of the better pieces of software that I have the joy to use.
I’m happy there’s a new release. There’s a bug that’s really been annoying me (global keybinds stop working on macOS after a little) and it’s supposed to be fixed now. (I haven’t had a chance to test it yet, but can’t wait!)
