More job applications! Also hoping to draft an application for an artists residency. Warehouse job applications in the meantime, though even BJ’s turned us down for a couple positions.
Outside of that: Reading a play for book club, attending another hiring hall (claws crossed), and scrounge up what side gigs or other income we can in the meantime. Offers of or referrals to contract work would be a huge help.

Yep! That kinda recovery is a journey with its ups, down, switchbacks, and rest stops. Absolutely worth the trip, though.

Attending the Roguelike Celebration! And mostly that. We had an especially social week and our spoons are drained but in a satisfying way.
Oh! And we’re setting up our media console for the apartment. Successfully installed Jellyfin on a VM on our Proxmox NAS last night! Up next: Connecting the media so that the upcycled console can start streaming. Excited!

More job hunting: Devoting today to deeply customizing our resume and cover letter for a particularly exciting job opportunity. With any luck, this should get us past this HR screen and future ones both. If anyone would like to review either document, that would be greatly appreciated.
Prepping for our birthday next week! And hosting board games ahead of that!

It’s incredibly similar to what’s happened in Hollywood and AAA gaming where investors have come to expect blockbuster hits to the exclusion of adequate returns on media with sustainable production budgets.

Continuing the job hunt. Even McDonald’s didn’t get back to us so yeah, it’s bad out there. Switching focus back to tech work for a spell.
Prepping for our birthday next week! Also hosting board games both personal and public.
Looking for any financial assistance we can find in the meantime since a combination of the market, misfortune, and morals have left us nearly zeroed out.

Good luck! It really has been a game-changer for us. Do give us a ping if you’d like to be accountabili-buddies on tracking those expenses!

Good luck! We’ve been meaning to revisit bevy once we’ve recovered from more of our professional burnout.

Job hunt! Currently bouncing between what AI-free software engineering jobs we can find and getting rejected from Starbucks over and over (in case you needed any more proof that the US economy is suffering). Starting a food safety certification course next week. Any referrals or resume feedback are appreciated, ideally on-site here in NYC.
Getting back to budgeting. Going to get Actual Budget synced up with our accounts and see what trends we can spot there.
And watching some Gundam with a new friend! Excited for that.

Claws crossed. Empathizing as someone who’s just been through such a period (and is still far from the end of it).
