Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•You're 17 and at a house party. You shit your pants. What do you do?
3·1 month agoZero hesitation, yeah!
I’ve made an android app for splitting expenses. I was so frustrated when I was in charge of the excel sheet with my friends geoup New Year"s trip expenses, that I started working on it and I pushed it in production in the end of July. Which is especially great because I have a sizeable graveyard of things that I was burning for and then completely abandoned.
It’s called WEREVEN, it’s free, has no ads (maybe I will monetize it in the future, but I don’t want to annoy 20 people who use it), and I don’t collect your personal data.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•One of my bucket list things is to try a food item, listen to an album and read a book from every country in the world. Any recommendations?

Was he welding in that mask?
I immediately thought that a case of corona could be devastating for a retirement home just several years ago
Even if it’s just 10-15, Zomboid, Oxygen Not Included, Factorio, Isaac, and Risk of Rain, are thousands of possible fun hours, even without rotation

Oh yes. It’s our 13th anniversary, and we had a fight yesterday, so I was forced into “serious conversation” today, so I fucked off into the night for a breather. I don’t need any of that bullshit, but it comes with the whole package.
Can go deeper and make Ho Malone
I would agree with you, but you took such a shitty way to formulate that, that you probably won’t get anyone at your side
Problem solving, from simple to hard. I did a lot of stuff on Codewars, and moved from trivial stuff to more complex in course of a few months. It’s not like I got really far, but for me it’s motivation problem, not a method problem

Programming@programming.dev•AI Software Development Is Near-Impossible
2·3 months agoFable was “just ask and get it done” quality level, but really I don’t get THAT much bugs - about the same amount that I see irl developers do: get a new feature, find 5 problems, get them fixed, find one more, done. As a recommendation - try to alleviate the biggest problems that ai models have:
- overconfidence - skipping wrong stuff “because they have a note saved that it works” or losing the point where they stopped after a session broke, then making things up. Test Driven Development solves the majority of problems like that - when Claude writes tests first, then it’s not able to bullshit me that the job is done when “everything is red”
- even with large contexts, they run out and stuff gets lost. So if you’re not doing something really compact, make your ai document everything, document the feature they are working on now, make it then offload it to permanent doc when that piece is finished. When the ai will fuck up next time, you can tell it to “go read some docs” and most of the times it will work

4·3 months agoYeah, so if you are a senior dev, the easy work just disappears? Like if you are an experienced carpenter, you will never have to drive nails again, because that’s too easy!
