Discover the true cost and scale of data storage at the petabyte level, and why "cheap storage" is a myth for enterprises handling vast amounts of unstructured data.
Every time you used a decimal unit but then equated it to binary (or worse: both):
this:
Oh yes. 1 PB is 1,000,000,000,000,000 bytes. 1,125,899,906,842,620 specifically. I didn’t click link. He responded like I was wrong.
and this:
• Gigabyte (GB): 1,000 megabytes (decimal) or 1,024 megabytes (binary).
and this:
Exabyte! Damn son. 1024 Petabytes is 1,073,741,824 Gigabytes.
and this
No the standard abbreviation for a petabyte is PB. And 1 PB is 1,000,000 Gigabytes. 1 terabytes is not 1 million GB. 1 terabyte is 1024 gigabytes. This shit isn’t that hard to understand.
As well as two instances of posting outdated graphics (again showing decimal units but binary number of bytes)
Funny enough you also posted a correct infographic in between but somehow didn’t realise they were contradicting each other.
I can’t get wasted anymore while posting.
1 Gigabyte is 1,000 megabytes (decimal) or 1,024 megabytes (binary). That is right.
Now, one petabyte holds 1000 terabytes or 1,000,000,000,000,000 bytes, that is right.
1024 Petabytes is 1,073,741,824 Gigabytes. You can do conversion chart. I checked all that with google. How is that wrong?
Indeed, should have just left it at that instead of making a total fool out of yourself in the comments. But hey, now you learned two things today!
There we are.
That still fails to capture that the binary system was renamed to different units so it’s still misleading.
Well then go ahead and add your perfect chart here yourself.
Yes, I wasn’t being specific as you all wanted.
What did I say that was wrong? I usually drunk post anyway?

Well, guess I spoke to soon.
so far correct …
Wrong. Gigabyte and Megabyte are ALWAYS decimal. They are decimal units.
1 Gigabyte would be 953.7 MiB (mebibytes).
That is correct.
No. 1024 Petabytes would be 1024000000 Gigabyte, since 1 Petabyte is a round 1000000 Gigabytes.
I was just not being very specific down to the number on these.
