Donald Trump is accused of raping a former Miss Switzerland in a report probing the president’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein released by House of Representatives Democrats this week.

Beatrice Keul, a retired model and beauty pageant contestant, told the House Judiciary Committee about an incident alleged to have taken place at New York’s Plaza Hotel in 1993. The report, released a week ahead of the midterm elections, also summarizes previously reported allegations from four other women against Trump.

The White House has strongly denied all of the reports’ claims, accusing ā€œcrazedā€ Democrats of ā€œa desperate attempt to distract Americansā€ and insisting that the president has been ā€œfully exonerated of anything related to Epstein.ā€

Keul previously claimed in October 2024 that Trump had sexually assaulted her at a beauty pageant staged at the Plaza Hotel, which Trump then owned.

ā€œThe president may have raped someone, but we need to double down on the made up rape threat that transgender people pose to women!ā€

-Republicans, demonstrably.

Funny, the White House started a whole ass war to distract from the Epstein files. Projection at it’s finest.

And before the 2016 election he fired off probes to HILARY’S EMAILS which was a literal nothing-burger…

…then HUNTER’S LAPTOP which was an absolute fabrication.

But documented undeniable proof that someone who has been found guilty of rape, has documented history of rape and being a pedo, and openly bragged about sexually assaulted women…yeah that’s just a baseless witch hunt

We decided that Democrats don’t deserve votes and should be the minority party. They have no power to do anything but write memos. Why are we suddenly pissed they’re not doing more after we stopped then from being able to do more?

The Biden administration slow-rolled the prosecution of Trump because they wanted to avoid any semblance of it being a political prosecution. That was a mistake, because there was no way for them to avoid the accusation of politicization, and failing to act quickly allowed Trump to retake the White House and overtly politicize the justice department.

But it was never in him. By letting the prosecution play out, and trusting the public he promised to represent, he acted as a faithful democratic leader. Wartime leaders like George Washington and Abraham Lincoln deliberately stepped aside to allow boring democratic leaders like Biden to facilitate reconciliation after conflict.

In this case, the tactical error was letting the public re-take the wheel, assuming they had learned their lesson and were now smart enough to not be fooled by the same fascist conman.

Making that decision for them might have thwarted the carnage, but more likely would have only postponed it allowing a significantly more competent and disciplined fascist administration to be granted power 4 years later.

Though it pains me, and this opinion will undoubtedly be unpopular, I disagree that it was a mistake for Biden to avoid making Trump’s prosecution a priority.

Obviously in hindsight it was a tactical error to allow American voters to re-take the wheel, but in principle the decision to not expedite a trial in order to conclude before the election expressed faith in the public to not screw up.

In technical terms he was acting as a jus post bellum democratic leader, not a responsible-government technocrat, pragmatic tactician, or revolutionary.

So it’s easy to say in hindsight ā€œit’s a pity that he did not stab that vile creature when he had a chance!ā€ But trust in others you claim to represent is never a mistake, even when that trust turns out to be misplaced.

Now I understand that you’d prefer Democrats to be just as openly corrupt and criminal as Republicans, but unfortunately for you the Democrats still do follow laws, even when those laws mean that the Epstein files remain sealed by court order.

Of course, that court order was lifted in 2025 and a law was passed specifying their release. Republicans, being much more willing to openly break the law, chose to not release them.

There are dozens and dozens of people they could have also been prosecuting. If not hundreds. But all they needed for their little legitimacy play is one. single. solitary. woman. For decades and decades and thousands of rapes and billions in money laundering and god knows what else.

Follow the law? I guess the law doesn’t say anything about being one of the actual hundreds of rapists or facilitating money laundering or anything. Jfc you’re drunk on their bullshit.

Who hasn’t trump raped, really? It honestly seems, given what’s in the Epstein files and in interviews and FBI reports, that every young blonde woman in his circles has either been harassed or raped, because he has a fucked up compulsion and no ability to constrain himself. He thinks all such women not only owe him that, but should be grateful for his disgusting, grubby attention.

He’s like Jabba the Hutt but somehow more disgusting. I think the list of women in his orbit who were not subjected to this shit would be much shorter.

Of course, since they were already so used to reaching for the ā€œcivilityā€ narrative, because donnie said ā€œpussyā€ instead of some other term, it was so very easy to talk about it as if ā€œermhagawd, he said the P-WORD!ā€ was what people were actually taking issue with vs. the crimes he was actually admitting to.

ITT: People who totally forget how it came to be that the Epstein files are even public, the insane amount of fighting that has gone into this and is still going into it, and who have not read the report itself.

Hint: Here’s the actual report. You should read it.

Or hell, just read the introduction. It details many law enforcement and bipartisan Congressional efforts at all levels, in every way possible, over the span of multiple administrations, to act against the pedophiles in power.

You never asked yourselves that, did you? You have literally never asked yourselves, ā€œHow is it I even know about Jeffrey Epstein?ā€ You only know about him BECAUSE a lot of people, Dems and pre-MAGA Republicans alike, did a great deal of something. He was only arrested BECAUSE a lot of people on all sides did a great deal of something.

But these people screeching in this thread ignore all that, and are acting as though a lawfully-acting US president has the power of a dictator and billionaires have none. This too is a flat out lie and distortion of reality. For example, it is well known that Epstein had informants in the FBI: that he even got arrested in 2019 is a miracle in itself. Billionaires pay people, including people in government, while a lawful president has his hands tied by the separation of powers created by the Constitution.

During Trump 1.0, there were still law-abiders in key positions in both the executive and the judiciary that were able to keep him in his lane and out of active investigations, and that’s how it was possible that Donald Trump was president when Epstein was arrested in July 2019: the investigation was run by the Southern District of New York on a local basis without involving DC. They had to work very hard at keeping it hidden entirely until they could make the arrest, and they did.

But you people yelling ā€œNo one did anything!ā€ freely ignore all that, and are also very careful not to address the actual report or the evidence in it.

When Biden was president there were still open and active investigations: as a president who kept his oath to the Constitution, it was literally illegal for him to involve himself in them. Trump is NOT a law-abiding president, and he not only shits on his oath, breaking the checks and balances daily, he hired his own personal attorney to be Attorney General of the United States, who still works for the president as a single client.

Stop, and think about that for a second: this present Trump illegality is the exact behavior these people yelling about ā€œnobody does anything!ā€ think Biden should have engaged in. Stop, and consider this. Trump uses the DoJ as his personal lawfare machine and the world screams, but here our esteemed shouty guests are suddenly all for Biden doing exactly that in this thread.

    Why?

Because the shouters screaming ā€œBiden did nothing! Dems did nothing!ā€ are only here for the midterms, and it’s self-evident.

But I’m telling you personally, in ANY country, if you want an executive that interferes in the judicial – a balance carefully crafted in the US Constitution by guys who know a fuckton more than internet randos and that is now violated daily by Trump – then you do not want democracy: the stance you advocate is not compatible with a free society, and you’re looking at that play out in reality right now.

So stop with the gaslighting. Outside the corruption of Washington DC, people across the board want the Epstein files to come out, Dem and Republican alike. And the files we do have are a result of bipartisan cooperation to get them out.

No one wants to live in a country where rights only apply to the rich, and the story of Donald Trump’s filthy excesses is exactly that: a tale of how the laws never applied to someone rich enough to slither out of accountability to them.

When you say no one ever did anything, when in fact countless people have been fighting uphill battles for years – as the report demonstrates and even lists – it’s not only a flat out lie, it’s the kind of thing that people say when they don’t really want anything to change.

Happens every election around here. For anyone else, if you’re genuinely interested in who has been doing what, read the report.

That, and there is credible evidence that Vladimir Putin has a thing for little boys. That’s what got Litvinenko killed. Let’s all talk about that too, as long as we’re talking about billionaire pedos and those who will not stop them, because that sick motherfucker is at the very top of the depraved list.

A lot of good stuff here and I agree wholeheartedly until this.

No one wants to live in a country where rights only apply to the rich, and the story of Donald Trump’s filthy excesses is exactly that: a tale of how the laws never applied to someone rich enough to slither out of accountability to them.

There are plenty of people wealthy, rich, and poor that absolutely worship money. They have no problem that money has created a two-tiered society. This is the way it is supposed to be for them and anything else is going against the natural order. Our whole society is infatuated with wealth and we even have terms like ā€œfuck you moneyā€ which is the ultimate in freedom for the US.

There is literally no timing, messaging, or amount of evidence that wouldn’t be shot down as a witch hunt.

I’m pretty sure Donald Trump could give an oval office address just openly admitting he raped someone, and the right-wing media machine would instantly be telling people why they shouldn’t be upset about it.

The dems don’t care. They’re just doing this so they get elected. Then if/when they’re elected, it’ll get buried again.

So much this. I hate when people are like ā€œthey don’t really believe thatā€ in response to some public statement. The public statement itself is important! Half a politician’s job is public speaking. What they say in public matters just as much as what they do in private, and immediately attacking someone for doing the unobjectionably right thing is self defeating.

In my experience a very large amount of lemmy users support an idea that you should not vote for the democrats because afterwards complatency is too easy while more of Trump may unlock a civil war revolution.

I highly disagree with it and i dont think it will work out that way. I rather fight facist-lite then cant-wait-for-an-excuse-to-bomb-ā€œwokeā€-cities-facism but i do understand the logic those ā€œusersā€ apply.

The real question is, are those users actually real people voicing their personal opinions or are they trolls/bots. Its not a good sign how increasingly vocal they are right in front of a US election and suddenly silent afterwards. Complacent much?

My suggestion is to vote lesser evil and then the moment they win a No-kings protest, continueing to grill the entire office to make it clear their polical win comes with 0 support from the people.

              Wait here a second.

              There we are, found it.

There are LITERAL accelerationists here that will tell you that voting is bad, because the system needs to get worse, so it can finally collapse. And they are not a small minority, though a minority they remain. They will gladly sacrifice anyone who dies to a fascist regime on their way to accelerate the collapse.

So far as I can tell, the only meaningful push to hold any Epstein pedophile accountable has come from the Dems, with the one Republican who pushed for it being ousted by the GOP and Israel.

I wouldn’t immediately jump to doomerism conclusions when so far all the evidence is pointing you in the other direction. Just get off your ass and go vote for the Dems.

Can we start narrowing it down to people whom Trump hasn’t molested? Is that a shorter list yet?
