  • I think the best way to do that is to remember that if the relationship is important to you then it’s your responsibility to be the one who tries, but you have to understand, some people just are hard to get along with, and others are just boring, but if you love or care for them you just accept that and find a way to bridge the gap between you and them. Understand that you may just have to give up, it is what it is, but making the effort absolves yourself of the guilt, you tried, it’s all any of us can do.

I find taking interest on what they’re interested in really helps, sometimes it will surprise you that their interests can become a shared interest. My kids and I can talk for hours about their stuff, and I’m just happy to participate.

Also, be a good listener, anyone can talk and be the life of the party and show off the charisma, but listening takes patience, understanding, empathy and compassion.

    Best of luck to you.

  • There was a good video put out by AOC last night about how the speaker is voted for, based on that I think the answer is finding out who the caucus leaders are and getting their attention, because the voting basically comes down to all of the cliques of Congress/Senate getting together to decide who is speaker/Majority Leader, so we need to get in the ear of the leaders of those political cliques within the Democratic party, because based on AOCs responses, the cliques have the power and the smaller cliques and independents are on the outside looking in.

  • Change.org petitions aren’t worth getting on our enemies radar for, they don’t change anything, and even the media stopped paying attention to them, and that was the main thing they were worth.

Calling reps is better, but my reps are MAGA dirtbags, and most public leaders don’t care about folks outside of their constituency calling them outside of the increases in call volume, Schumer and Jeffries know that we think they’re shit, they’re paid by AIPAC and others to not care, people should be calling the caucus leaderships, because some of them aren’t compromised yet, and they’re the ones voting for Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader.

Ultimately we have to make noise while not having anymore platforms of our own, having government/politicians we don’t trust, and journalists who are derelict in their duties. We still have an uphill battle to keep fighting.

  • It’s so ridiculous saying moderate candidate would look less radical next to her, there is nothing radical about AOC, Bernie, El-Sayid, Mamdani, yet here you are carrying the enemy’s water and showing how biased they made you by describing them as radical, when you don’t have to at all.

I get what your saying is meaning the voters, but my point is how is making sure people have healthcare, quality education, clean air & water, radical? The rich have done such a masterful job brainwashing the shit out of our society over the centuries of disinformation and religious indoctrination.

  • This isn’t “liberal” shit, this is right leaning centrist shit, I know you’ll argue “you just described liberal” but that’s just your biases speaking, these are the same centrists that were okay with Hitler coming to power in the 1930’s, same exact attitudes, same exact apathy.

Also to add to the “don’t be so smug” message, we see the same exact kind of apathy from those who claim themselves to be Far-Left, Progressive, Socialist, and Communist, just a bunch of shit heads who can’t get past their own self interests in order to unify against a fascist threat, or multiple fascist threats. They would rather sniff their own egotistical farts then raise one finger to help society change incrementally because it doesn’t yield results fast enough for their entitled asses.

  • Democrats are the Minority in the House, Senate, the Supreme Court, minority in most state legislations as well, so outside of everything they are actually doing, such as lawsuits and hearings, what would you do? Do you understand how our government is supposed to work?

Also if you suggest civil war, well then champ step right up and be the change you want to see, it’s a lot easier talking tough than actually doing tough things, there are plenty of people out there just waiting until some kind of credible resistance leadership beyond activists and politicians shows themselves.

We need to be smart, organize, unify and be ready for if the midterm elections fail legitimacy, and if we lose the midterms legitly then I guess we get what we voted for and will have to figure out how we get through it.
