• Have you actually encountered someone who refuses bug reports found due to the use of LLMs?

Focusing on individuals is going to lead to outliers so maybe that looking at collectives is better. GCC refuses LLM-generated code but accepts LLM-generated testcases. Codeberg refuses LLM-generated code too and says nothing about bug reports (and non-code?!). Both cite unclear copyright status which is another indicationg that bug reports, usecases, testcases and investigations are fine.

Let’s say I object completely to the use of fossil fuel. Am I going to complain that the ambulance that takes me is using fossil fuel? Am I going to skip eating vegetables because they’ve been transported in a truck or because the farmer used a tractor? Or vegans who would refuse to talk to non-vegans?

You’ll find plenty of people who refuse to touch some stuff but basically none of them will refuse to touch what is a couple steps away already. Of course, not all of these steps are equal but you get the idea.

The people you’re wondering about basically don’t exist. Those who do are zealots; they’re a minority. I reckon that keyboards tend to turn people into zealots unfortunately so you’ll probably find more online than offline. Still, that’s going to be fairly few people and people whom you probably already didn’t want to interact with if possible.

Don’t worry. Simply mention how you found the bug and the other person will decide.

(BTW, to be clear, I don’t think you were trying to build a straw man, quite the contrary)
