This post erroneously states CHICKEN uses the tracing Doligez-Leroy-Gonthier (DLG) algorithm for major collections. CHICKEN uses the solution suggested by Baker, where we simply do a Cheney style copy between two semispaces. The author is right to suggest that this makes native threading impossible without a global lock, which is one reason CHICKEN doesn’t support native threading.
