Here's a question we see, especially from AI skeptics: if AI coding is so great, shouldn't we be seeing more new, good software by now?
Here are some answ...
All of the sloppy recompilation/emulation projects of older console exclusive games seem to be in generally impressive state. OTOH the content is the point, not the code.
Well, to toot my own horn, or rather that of my agent’s which has churned out more research-grade software than I ever dreamed of writing myself; I like to think https://nina.family/ is pretty cool. I need to polish it up and do some introductory videos because it’s just an absolute pile of fun stuff. It takes a while to load which is my next order of business.
What version? It loads for me on Chrome 155.0 Android 16, but it’s not friendly to slow internet and/or older phones without much RAM, I will add some more in-page messaging for the ‘before it loads’ case real quick.
Requires JavaScript with no <noscript> so stuck on an “Loading …” that didn’t work. Enabled JavaScript, page took like 5 minutes to “load” on pretty quick internet, then still a UI with a blank page—at least I thought but the text was so tiny & so little contrast that I didn’t even see it. Every click was super laggy in LibreWolf that I straight up thought it was broken. What are we tooting about—as I can’t even tell what it does? 😅
Let it sit there loading for several minutes. It now says “the app failed to load — check your connection and reload” below (in large text) “Loading…” and an ever animated line. And I’m still receiving data.
I wanted to check it out, but it seems to depend on webgpu, which my system doesn’t support. Also had some other errors in the javascript console, such as Security Error: Content at https://nina.family/#/nina.family/welcome may not load or link to file:///. and Uncaught RuntimeError: unreachable executed (although the latter might go away with working webgpu?)
Edit: I enabled webgpu in Firefox’s about:config, and now it seems to work. That wouldn’t have worked on my previous laptop though.
Give us the data then. Mention one software that got you impressed lately so we can all see it.

crosspoint-reader, (and its forks: crossink, inx etc.) and the whole ecosystem around tiny e-readers has blown my mind.
