I did an AI hackathon last weekend to learn more how people are using AI (my team got 3rd out of 15). Everyone did so much I’m both unmotivated because my craft feels dead and inspired by how much I could do.
Between that and the rampant decompiling trend, life is weird as a professional game dev. I’ve been using AI to do more, but I’m so conflicted its difficult to move forward on anything. I’ve learned a lot about spec writing, so my goal is just to build… something, and then another something.

I wrote a spec and then a teammate fed it into windsurf and out popped a running prototype. My only advice would be swing for the fences.
